Today's Reading:
John 20:25-28 (NIV)

So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”  Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Consider this:
  • What changes take place in this passage of scripture?
  • What does Jesus want from Thomas?
  • What does Jesus want Thomas to believe?
  • Do you believe that Jesus is your Lord and your God?
  • When did you start believing this?
  • What difference has it made in your life?
Treasure Application:
  • Was Jesus SERVING humanity when He was crucified?  Does that allow us to EXPERIENCE HEALING?
  • Are you SERVING OTHERS when you share the gospel with them?

Today's Reading:
John 20:3-8 (NIV)

So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb.  Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.  He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in.  Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus’ head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen.  Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.
Consider this:
  • How does Peter feel in this passage?
  • Can you remember what Peter’s last encounter with Jesus was like?
  • Have you ever felt desperate like this?
  • Have you felt hungry for God in a way that made all of your fears disappear?
  • Being in touch with our failures helps us desire God. Are you in touch with your failures?
Treasure Application:
  • In the time between the crucifixion and the resurrection, do you think apostles were engaged in PRAYER?
  • In the times you most clearly SEE GOD working in your life are your prayers ordered and elegant or desperate and passionate?  Why is that?

Today's Reading:
Mark 16:4-7 (NIV)

But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.  As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.  But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”
Consider this:
  • What happens in this passage of scripture?
  • The women “looked up.” Explain the value of “looking up.”
  • How does “looking up” differ from “looking down.”
  • Would they have seen the empty tomb if they had been looking down?
  • Can you see God when you are looking down?
  • Is there a place in your life where you need to start looking up?
Treasure Application:
  • What did the women LEARN at the tomb?
  • How did the women FIND FREEDOM in what they learned?

Today's Reading:
Mark 16:1-3 (NIV)
When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body.   Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”
Consider this:
  • What does the scenery look like in this passage of scripture?
  • How do the women feel?
  • What assignment have the women given themselves?
  • Is this their worst day or their best day?
  • They have been “in the house” for 3 days. What happens if they stay in the house?
  • Their task is impossible because of the stone. Explain the meaning of, “impossibilities are God sized opportunities.
  • Is there a place where you need to move out of the house?
Treasure Application:
  • How does Easter enable us to LOVE GOD?
  • Has God ever put an INVITATION to know Him more in your path but you almost missed it because you couldn’t imagine how He was at work in your life?
