Building Project Update for 3/24/2026
Upcoming Activity
Rough grading for the sanctuary (Building A) and the admin wing (Building B) is essentially completed. There are still small patches of poor soil which will be removed as needed. Grading crews are now turning their primary attention to the retention pond and digging footers.
Crews have started placing the structures for the foundations of retaining walls around Building A. Once the retaining wall foundations are poured and left to cure crews will move on to building footing structures and pouring them. We will likely see two or three footers being poured at a time. Crews will start up against the current building and work outwards away from the building.
The county and environmental folks have really been working well with us. They have accommodated us so that we could work around several issues that were discovered while excavating the retention pond. Now that the weather has improved the heavy equipment is back in the pond shaping it and building the necessary structures.
The street lights along the main entrance have been installed and are operational.
In the north parking lot, all conduit has now been placed. We are awaiting Duke Power crews to arrive and install the lighting around that parking lot.
This is a new section that I am adding to the weekly update. My team and I are going to manage low voltage equipment and wiring in-house. The low voltage portion of the project will include the ethernet network (including WiFi), a VoIP phone system, a new security system, and door access.
We have already started working in two major areas. First, we are reconfiguring and upgrading the core network and security systems we already have in preparation of the expansion that will come with the new building. Second, we are using the Roseman House as a "sandbox" to practice installing systems so we can develop best practices and training folks on the new systems so teams will know how to use all technology on the day we occupy the new building.
