Building Project Update for 5/19/2026
Upcoming Activity
The concrete crew is currently working on the perimeter footings. As those are being completed the crew is starting to prep and place the edge forms required for the slab pour.
The slab is still on schedule to be poured between June 1st and 3rd. The pour will require something along the lines of 40 concrete trucks to complete the pour.
Underslab plumbing has been completed and inspected for buildings A and B. The electrical conduit installation is proceeding on schedule.
The masons arrived onsite today and have started construction on the firewall. You will see rising alongside the existing building. This brick structure provides a safety burn barrier between the original building and Building A.
Starting June 16th crews will begin placing a construction entrance that leads directly into the sanctuary from the back of the building. Construction of this entrance is expected to take up to eight weeks. Once it is completed we will begin using it (for about eight weeks) while the pad is being graded and poured for Building C.
Contractors have been looking at the area this entrance will be places. There is going to be some additional concrete pad, steps, sidewalk, etc. placed to make the entrance more functional and attractive.
We have removed the PIN pad from the entry to the Discipleship Building. You will now find a new device in its place. This device has two significant functions we are going to be interested in. First it is a badge reader. Second it acts as a doorbell.
If you had a PIN code that worked on the Discipleship Building door then you should now have a new badge made. If you haven't been given a badge please check with Chad or I to get that in your hands. When you have the badge you just hold it over the center of the reader for about one second and then it will chime and say "welcome, while the LED ring flashes blue, and the door unlocks for five seconds. If you have any questions please let me know.
For the doorbell feature, if you press the doorbell during office hours Tanya and Lily's phone (in room 3) will ring and they can unlock the door for you. If they aren't there or we are outside of business hours the ring will kick over to Scott and I on our cell phones and we can unlock the door for you remotely.
This new entry system will give us far better accountability and control over building access while also making it easer to grant access to people in situations we didn't anticipate.
