Building Project Update for 6/24/2026

The entrance has been roughed in and the exterior door installed.  Per the schedule, work has halted waiting on electricians to run overhead conduit and plumbers to run large water pipes.

The original flooring has been removed.  Grinding/polishing is ongoing.  Stain coloring samples have been provided on the concrete for us to select from.

All interior and exterior utility work continues according to plan.  See pictures below for details.

WOW!  Steel is going up at a rapid pace.  The bones of the central structure are up and additional structures are going to start going up as erection of the central structure is completed.

This week focused on removal and demolition of the original security suite.  The new security area has been setup and is now operational.

J-hook paths are being setup and almost completed.  Once they are done we will begin installing new cameras in areas that will not be impacted by construction.

Received ⅛ “ of rain over the weekend, but it did not affect work.

Concrete contractor removed forms from slab “A” and began digging footings for awning on the front of building “A”.  (5 men)

The utility contractor began installing the new fire hydrant line. (3 men)

The electrical contractor began installing conduit in the existing building for new electrical circuits. (2 men)

The framers began framing a temporary partition wall in the existing sanctuary.  They also began removing ceiling tiles and grid across the pantry and down the hallway to give access to the fire sprinkler contractor. (3 men)

The concrete contractor continued cleanup and prepping the awning footings.  (5 men)

The flooring contractor began removing LVT from the children’s area.

The framers continued with wall framing and new exterior door installation. (3 men)

Electrical contractor continued installing conduit. (2 men)

The utility contractor continued installing fire hydrant line.  (3 men)

The grading contractor installed backfill around slab “A” and installed gravel access to both sides of the slab.  (2 men)

Concrete contractor continued forming footings for awning columns.  Footings were inspected and poured. (4 men)

Charlotte Steel began erecting steel for building “A”.

The floor polishing contractor began initial floor grinding to remove the flooring adhesive. (4 men) 

The framers hung sheetrock on the temporary wall and began the finishing process.

The electrical contractor continued installing conduits for new circuits. (3 men)

The grading contractor continued with backfill and ran over the parking lot with a water truck to reduce dust. (3 men)The utility contractor continued installing fire hydrant line. (3 men)

The city of Hickory has been inspecting hydrant line as they go to allow for backfill and compaction.

Milestone celebration lunch was held for all subcontractors currently working onsite.

Concrete contractor formed piers for awning columns.  Piers were inspected and poured. (4 men). 

Charlotte Steel continued with steel erection for building “A” ( 8 men)

Electricians continued installing conduits for future circuits.  (3 men)

The concrete polishing contractor continued grinding the floor in the children’s area. (5 men)

1 /2 rain fell overnight.  Work was not affected.
