Building Project Update for 7/29/2026

Work continues on schedule.  The primer and first coat of paint are on the walls.

The ceiling has been replaced.

Floor polishing has started and will run into next week.

Once the floor is completed the painters will come back in and finish up the final painting and hang the doors.

After that, it's time to get everything final inspected so we can get the certificate of occupancy (CO).  We are still expecting to have that done on time and have kids back in their renovated space by 8/15.

The roof of building A continues with installation.  Supports and corrugated metal wall panels continue to be placed.

The cafe patio steel was erected this week and continues to be fleshed out.

Crews have started placing the structural steel for building B and we expect that to move pretty quickly since the building is relatively small when compared to building A.

Crews have been welding braces in the ceiling that are securing the existing building to the new firewall.

We have installed all security cameras throughout the facility that we can at this time.

All inactive security camera equipment has been removed and the associated wiring has been pulled out.  

In the next few weeks we will have the new security system installed in the existing building and be able to remove the old security alarm gear and sensors.  This is an important part of cleaning up the space in the ceiling so that our electricians, plumbers, and HVAC contractors can pass their inspections and not be slowed down by old and obsolete infrastructure.

Spectrum Business installed the new conduit from the road to the building.  Once their inside plant crew gets onsite they will pull our new fiber connection in and connect us to their fiber network.  We are looking forward to that because we have been having lots of problems with our existing copper connection.

A little less than ½ “ of rain fell over the weekend but did not affect work.

The steel erection company continued to install roof trim and panels.  (4 men)

The electrical contractor continued to work on the rough-in for the new service coming into the building.  (2 men)

The drywall contractor completed sanding and pointup in the children’s area.

The painters started priming walls in the children’s area.  (2 men)

The HVAC contractor insulated ductwork in the ceiling.  (3 men)

The grading contractor smoothed up the driveway and spread stone for access onto the slab for building “A”.

The steel erection company continued to install roof trim and panels.  (4 men)

Charlotte Steel began installing framing and clips for the masonry firewall.

Steel erection continued with the install of wall panels on building “A”.  (4 men).

Painting resumed in the children’s space.  (4 men)

Electrical rough-in continued in the children’s space.  (3 men)

Mechanical (HVAC) rough-in was completed with inspections scheduled for Monday.
