Building Project Update for 9/2/2026

The exterior is going to be ready this Sunday.  Everything that has been required to be completed is done.  The next few days will be about cleaning the space up so that it doesn't feel like a construction area.

Please remind everyone that this is expected to last about 12 weeks.  If there is any way possible to move faster all parties are going to do their best to expedite this segment of the project.

The front/entry area is running a bit behind the rest of the structure because of the complex roof at the front of the building and some ongoing inspection work.  Nothing is behind, just moving at different speeds throughout the entire project.

Framing is moving at a nearly ridiculous pace.  I have watched the crews and the framers are putting up the studs, immediately followed by the electricians, and then the drywall guys.  It is exciting and hard to keep up to speed with them at the same time.

At this point you are starting to see the final shapes of several areas coming to life.  This is especially true on the far side of the building.

This building is running behind building A but this is by design.  As contractors find themselves waiting on another trade or out of a specific material they shift into this building and continue on building B.

I don't have a picture of it this week but you will likely see a patch of different concrete at some point.  We had to shift the restroom in the church office over a few feet.  That isn't ideal but there were changes required by the kitchen design we just couldn't work around if we wanted the kitchen done in the best way possible.  Most of the changes were minor and don't have much impact...but moving pipes under concrete are a different story.

This is a new section.  Building C will be built immediately outside the main entrance that we are closing this Sunday.  It will essentially exist in the area where the beige tent was.  This is the expansion of the kid's area that will square up the current building.

There won't be any activity when you see it this Sunday but come this Tuesday it is going to be a full fledged construction zone.

What you can expect in the next few weeks is demolition of the exterior treatment and grading for the new concrete slab.

Steel erectors continued with steel, insulation, and roof panels in building “A”.  (6 men).  Structural steel almost complete.

Electrician continued rough-in in building “A”.  (4 men)

Framing contractor continued with perimeter wall framing in building “A.”

Grading and concrete contractors continued to prep rear parking and patio area for pouring scheduled for Tuesday.  They also continued to build the retaining wall separating the two. (8 men total)

½ inch of rain overnight delayed concrete pour til Thursday.

Steel erectors continued with steel on building “A”.

Electricians continued with wall rough-in in building.

Erector continued with insulation and roof panels for building “A”.   Structural steel completed and waiting for inspection.

Wall clips are almost complete.  Several clips require an RFI for modification.

Framing, electrical rough-in continued in building “A”.

Concrete poured for the handicap parking area, patio and sidewalks (6 men).
