Building Together for the Future

THE TESTIFY
Campaign

The Testify Campaign is about more than bricks and mortar—it’s about building a space where lives are transformed, stories of faith are shared, and the next generation encounters Jesus. Together, we’re witnessing God’s faithfulness in action as we invest in the future He is shaping through our church.

By joining this campaign, you become part of a movement that testifies to God’s work in our community. Your support helps create a lasting legacy, where hope grows and lives are forever changed.

WHAT IS
TESTIFY

The TESTIFY Campaign is our church’s building initiative designed to create space for community and growth. It’s more than construction—it’s about preparing a place where lives are transformed and the next generation encounters Jesus.

By supporting TESTIFY, you’re investing in the future of our church and the impact we will have together. This campaign invites you to be part of something lasting and meaningful that testifies to God’s faithfulness.

WHAT ARE WE
BUILDING

We are expanding our church’s physical space, but what truly matters is what happens inside. We are building disciples—people flowing with faith and love, not standing still. This growth creates room for transformation and a lasting impact in our community.

Our space will be a place where people are built up and equipped to reflect the love of Jesus and carry out His work.  A place to be a River Not a Pond!

WHAT IS THE
TESTIFY GOAL

Our ultimate goal is to build authentic community—starting with our people, equipping them to reflect the love of Jesus and do His work. Through the TESTIFY campaign, we aim to raise $5.5 million to expand our reach and minimize debt, so we can invest more in what matters most: people and mission.

For more details on the TESTIFY campaign, please reach out—we’d be glad to answer your questions and provide everything you need to know.

Why Are We
Doing It Now

Between now and 2027, we expect our Sunday attendance to nearly double, and by 2030, we anticipate welcoming 3,000 people each week.

While this growth is exciting, it also brings challenges. Offering three services already stretches our pastors, worship team, staff, and volunteers thin—and we’re preparing for what’s next.

 God's Goodness
for Generations

Every testimony starts with what God has done. Testify is our bold declaration that faith is alive when shown through action. We chose this theme because our personal stories and testimonies are how we live out and declare our faith.

As our church family grows, so does our calling - to serve more, reach deeper, and show His love more powerfully than ever before.

When Is
Ground Breaking

This is the exciting part - we’ve already started preparing our space through deconstruction and site work for the next phase.

While weather and permitting can affect the timeline, you’ll begin to see BIG changes at Discovery Church starting October and November as we officially break ground and move into construction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Completion Date

Our anticipated date of completion is summer of 2027.

Worship Center & Services

Our new Worship Center will comfortably seat 1,200 people. To provide a meaningful worship experience for everyone, we will offer two services at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

As construction begins, we are currently reviewing the entrances to the existing building and plan to incorporate a covered waiting area.

The new church entrance, opening in 2027, will include a built-in covered space designed to enhance access and provide a welcoming arrival experience.

Our current Worship Center will continue to be a welcoming space for gatherings like the ladies’ Testimonial Tea, Round Table events, Ironmen, and other group meetings.

As we move into the new building, we’ll not only have this familiar space but also expanded areas designed to host larger groups and provide new opportunities for connection and growth.

Our current handicap parking is located in the Trivium Lot, where we’ve designated accessible spaces right next to the shuttle pickup. From there, the shuttle will transport you directly to the main entrance, making your arrival as smooth and easy as possible.

For those needing wheelchair access, our parking team will gladly direct you to the entrance with the ramp for easy entry to the main building.

In the new worship center, baptisms will take place right on the main
stage in a specially designed recessed area.

The existing sanctuary will house additional classrooms for children, connected to the current children’s wing, plus dedicated classrooms for youth. It will also include a flexible multipurpose area designed to host smaller gatherings and a wide variety of ministry events

Parking

Our current handicap parking is located in the Trivium Lot, where we’ve designated accessible spaces right next to the shuttle pickup. From there, the shuttle will transport you directly to the main entrance, making your arrival as smooth and easy as possible.

For those needing wheelchair ramp accessibility, we have a drop-off location at our temporary main entrance.

We have a 100-year lease on the Trivium Lot, providing plenty of space to support our growth now and into the future.

If our attendance reaches an average of 2,000, we will begin planning for additional parking locations to serve our expanding community. This will ensure we continue to meet your needs as we grow together.

We’re focused on providing ample parking for our growing community. Our team regularly reviews and plans ahead to ensure parking meets the needs of our growing church community.

Security

We’re working closely with our security team and consultants to review
camera placement, staffing, locks, key access, and more. This ongoing effort ensures our space stays safe and secure for everyone.

Our Discovery Kids Ministry leadership works closely with security experts to create the safest environment possible. We’re grateful to report no incidents to date, and together with our security team, we will carefully select the safest doors to protect your children.

Your child’s safety is our top priority. We partner closely with security experts to ensure every safety measure is in place now and as we grow—so your child is protected at all times.

Outreach

Outreach

Outreach

Yes.  Stones will be available for placement in the footings, and we’ll coordinate with the contractors on the best timing. This will likely be a Wednesday night prayer event, and we’ll be sure to give plenty of notice so everyone can participate.

Our outreach is about actively serving where God leads. We host Serve Days, identifying families in need and providing hands-on help. Through our ministry at Elizabeth’s House, we support families in crisis. In times of community tragedy, we step up by feeding and supplying fire, rescue, EMS, and police teams. We also respond to disasters like Hurricane Helene with relief efforts. Alongside community events like our Fall Festival, Christmas, and Easter, we remain prayerfully open tonew ways God calls us to serve. This commitment brings new visitorsweekly and fuels our growth toward 3,000 attendees by 2030.

Building/Relationship Growth

We have already hired an Associate Pastor of Youth and Young Adults who brings passion and experience to lead our youth ministry. Moving forward, we will continue to identify and train dedicated leaders and volunteers who share our vision. Together, they will create a supportive environment where every young person feels valued and connected. This growing team will help us build lasting relationships and keep our youth program strong and thriving.

What a great question - and being a dedicated supporter of Discovery Church is the perfect place to start! We deeply value your prayers—they are the foundation of everything we do. We cannot move forward without your ongoing support and prayer. Beyond that, there are many ways to serve and volunteer. If you’re not already involved, reach out to us—there’s always a place for you to help Discovery become more of a River, not a Pond. Your time, talents, and heart make a real difference in our church community.

We recognize that there will be many new leadership needs as we step
into this exciting new chapter. Since this is uncharted territory for us, we’re wisely partnering with those who have walked this path before. That’s why we’re engaging a consultant to review where we are now and help us clearly identify what and who we’ll need next. With this guidance, we’ll be equipped to build the right team to support our church family and nurture growth without missing a step.

The SWAT team will continue serving in similar areas, supporting routine setup and help where needed. As Discovery grows and hosts more events, their role may shift to provide support at a wider range of gatherings. Their dedication ensures every event runs smoothly and supports our mission to serve the community well.

Our heart is to support, grow, and—when the time is right—even plant new churches as God leads us. Right now, we are privileged to partner with First Stone Church in Belize, serving and building together, and learning from one another in meaningful ways. While we have no definitive plans for the next church plant at this time, we remain prayerfully open and attentive to where God may call us to invest and serve next—both locally and globally.

Financial/Funding

We keep the general fund and building fund separate to honor their purpose. The Testify Campaign uses money set aside specifically for building costs. Occasionally, excess funds in the general fund help pay down debt or cover building expenses when needed. We always maintain clear, transparent records to ensure every dollar is managed responsibly, honoring the trust of our congregation and God’s stewardship.

You can give to the Testify Campaign on Commitment Sunday, or you can make your commitment anytime—before, after, online, or by submitting it to the Discovery Church office. We make it easy to support in whatever way works best for you.

For our building project, we’ve secured a loan of up to $10 million with a
stable, fixed interest rate of 5.95%. The loan's full term is 60 months (five
years). During the first 24 months, we’ll make manageable, interest-only
payments on the funds we’ve used. After that, we transition to 35 months
of principal and interest payments. Because construction timelines can
shift, our final payments will be precisely determined by the outstanding
loan balance at the project's completion, amortized over 20 years to keep
them affordable. Any remaining balance will be due as a final payment a
the 60-month maturity mark. This strategic approach allows us flexibility
during construction while ensuring we are well-prepared for repayment.

We kept the building fund in CDs for two years, earning 4.7% interest. Now, we’ve moved the money to a bank account earning 3% so it’s ready and available for upcoming construction expenses. This ensures the funds are secure and accessible when we need them most.

We project that we will satisfy the debt for our new church within 5 years.
This is possible because we have a generous and faithful church family
that consistently steps up to support our mission.

Great Suggestion! While we haven’t done this before, sharing weekly and monthly income will keep our congregation informed and confident. With Testify giving starting in November, we’ll begin sharing income updates in our December newsletter.

Every special campaign we launch is designed to fund a specific project
that moves our church forward. TESTIFY is no different. While regular
tithes and offerings fuel the day-to-day ministry of Discovery Church, gifts
to TESTIFY go above and beyond—helping us build the future and create
space for more lives to be transformed.

Monies for the general fund and TESTIFY are kept separate to
ensure transparency and accountability. Tanya Turbeville and Lily
Waters serve in the Discovery Financial Department, working closely
with the Ministry Leadership Team to manage and oversee all funds.

We know that large gatherings can be challenging for some, and we deeply care about creating a welcoming place for everyone. While space is limited right now, we do offer earplugs and earmuffs upon request to help with auditory sensitivities. For children in Discovery Kids, our Buddies program provides one-on-one support to meet their unique needs. And as we continue to expand, we’re actively considering additional ways to better serve individuals and families who need a calmer experience.

We know our church family loves resources and gear, so the new building will include a space for books, apparel, and more to support your spiritual growth and connection.

Absolutely, having specific prayer points each week helps us stay connected and focused on God’s work. We are currently working on creating a dedicated page on our website to share these prayer needs for the project. This page will be live soon. In the meantime, you’ll also find these prayer points during our Wednesday night services. Our faithful church family has always stepped up in prayer, and together, we trust God to guide and provide every step of the way.

Prayer is the most important way to support our leadership during this time. Lifting up our leaders in prayer invites God’s wisdom, strength, and peace into every decision and challenge they face. Serving alongside them is another powerful way to help carry the mission forward and strengthen our church and community. You’ll find many opportunities to serve on our website or at the information desk on Sundays. Together, your prayers and service equip Discovery’s leadership to fulfill God’s call for our church’s future.

While there are no specific plans at this time, Pastor Smith currently preaches about 46 messages a year and plans to reduce that to around 40. This adjustment allows other leaders to step forward and share messages with our church family, while also giving Pastor Smith time with God to prayerfully consider his next steps. As always, Pastor Smith, along with our leadership and staff, remain committed to seeking prayer and putting Jesus first, trusting Him to guide all decisions.

We change the world by becoming the change we want to see— just like Jesus did, one person at a time. At Discovery Church, our mission is to help those around us feel truly seen, known, and loved. When we show genuine care and compassion in our everyday lives, we reflect God’s love and create a culture of hope and belonging that can transform our community and beyond.
